The work of Riva Lehrer, a disabled artist and curator herself, highlights the beauty that is a disabled body. Her attention to detail and use of shading and lighting draws attention to the most intricate of details in her work. She breaks the societal norms of what is considered to be "attractive." She adds an alluring atmosphere to disability and shows that the disabled body is also a beautiful body on its own. I admire how she displays the disabled body in all its glory and subtly, yet purposefully, draws attention to it, showing that the disabled body is not one to be ashamed of and is a body that is also beautiful.
